Length 4 inches by 40 Ring Gauge
The most popular Cuban cigar on the market.
The Montecristo range was created by the Alonso Menendez Company in the 1940s. Hints of nut, caramel, vanilla and cocoa make this cigar the “go to” cigar for so many cigar smokers, from the smallest No.5 right through to the famous No.2 torpedo.
A minimum ageing of at least three years is recommended for this cigar to find its greatest potential – if you can wait, but it’s also common for the cigars to have a year or so of age by the time they reach the market place and so offers an enjoyable smoke out of the box.
Introduced in 1935 by the H. Upmann factory, Montecristo appeared first in just sizes described by numbers not names. The name comes from the hero of Alexandre Dumas’ famous novel ‘The Count of Montecristo’, which was a firm favourite when read by the Lector to the Torcedores (cigar makers) at the factory where it was founded in 1935.
Montecristo’s perfectly balanced blends are created exclusively with selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone, home of the finest tobaccos in the world. Both its original medium to full taste and medium flavour found in the Open Series offer a distinguished aroma and appeal equally to new and experienced smokers.
